There is always a light switch that we don't want someone to accidentally turn off. In my case, the printer is tied to an outlet that can be turned off, so it is important to avoid it. Or you are playing with home automation and smart bulbs that need to be always energized.

This cover switch was inspired by a similar design I saw at my local hardware store (with a price tag I don't agree with, so I decided I could make one).

There are two versions, one for magnets about 8 mm in diameter, the post is 6mm deep allowing for a variety of magnets, adjust the depth with hot glue or epoxy (overkill). The other variation features a 12mm in diameter by 3mm deep magnet post that I tailored to fit the magnet I have at hand (12x2mm). Those are way bigger than necessary, but it was what I already had. You are free to tailor it to your needs, the Freecad files are included alongside step files for both variations.

Print it facing the printer bed, no support, no raft, nothing special. I've used PLA and fixed the magnets with hot glue.

Happy 3D printing.
