Background

I created this model for sex ed purposes last semester as a uni project. Even though I'm very happy with the outcome, there are several things I want to improve. The model is created on the basis of the work of Di Marino & Lepidi (2014), but since they used organs from dead people, I want to double check and look at MRI studies as well.

Furthermore I want to create variants of it and make it look more natural (not as symmetric and perfectly cylindric, etc). Also, I would love to incorporate surrounding structures like the urethra and vagina, glands, vulval lips, the clitoral hood, etc and add details like nerves and blood supply. The system of taking the model apart and putting it back together also needs some improvements I would like to work on.

Di Marino, V., & Lepidi, H. (2014). Anatomic Study of the Clitoris and the Bulbo-Clitoral Organ. Springer International Publishing. https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-319-04894-9

Printing

To print the model I recommend using flexible filament (TPU) with 10% infill. Depending on the Shore value of your filament you might want to tweak the infill a bit. I set the size to 200% in each dimension, so that the model is big enough to be taken apart and back together.

I used organic supports, but I recommend using as little as possible since it's a pest to remove them.

For the Pars Spongiosum you might want to play around with infill only prints (setting the number of perimeters to 0) to better demonstrate the difference to Pars Cavernosum.

Please let me know if you have any ideas or thoughts on this projects, since it's still a beta version!
