My snow shovel handle gave it up, so I searched the Prusa print catalog. I found a miniature shovel in 3 parts but the handle was about an inch long. With nothing to lose, it was upsized to human dimensions in a jiffy - and more important, sized to fit the 28mm handle on my shovel.
Strength is everything for a shovel handle. I recommend printing in PETG or PC blend. Settings as follows:
Support everywhere.
Be sure to set support interface distance to .2mm (detachable)
30% infill = Honeycomb
Perimeters = 10
Brim because I printed in PETG
To attach the handle, I drilled a 1/16 hole on both sides, and nailed the handle to the shovel shaft after printing.
