I didn't like Nevermore because it's pretty hard to print with ABS without any warpping, so I wanted to use The Filter in my VORON 0.2. I designed a mount that's quite easy to attach to the 1515 extrusions and allows to get the filter out to change the active carbon.

More information :

Mouting to the frame requires 2 nuts, you can either use LDO drop-in nuts or have 2 preloaded nuts (less likely since it needs to be done early in the frame assembly).

The mount was designed to have a female JST XH connector for quick and easy connect/disconnect.

The Filter was designed to improve heat up time on a VORON 2.4 but with this single fan version I didn't notice any improvement in heat up time, but technically it should help by circulating the hot air to the bottom of the enclosure.

 

BOM

  • 6* 6x3mm neodym magnets
  • 5015 blower fan
  • 2* M3 nuts
  • 2* M3x8 (socket head or button head)

 

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filter by gluing the neodym magnets to the mount and casing
  2. Put the fan in the filter
  3. Run the fan wiring to the bottom and crimp a JST XH male connector
  4. Prepare the mount wiring by soldering a JST XH female connector and runing both wires inside the extrusion to the mcu
  5. Add 2 nuts to the bottom extrusion and screw in the mount
  6. Crimp the mount wiring and connect it to the mcu
  7. Add active carbon and connect the filter to the mount's connector

I would strongly recommend to test the wiring and the fan before installing.
