Windowshelf

Small shelf to stick directly to your window for storing things, so that the window can still open without needing to move the items.

I use this to directly store soap on the ledge in the shower as the window is directly over the shower.

The shelf is fixed to the window only using tape to not leave any marks on removal. In contrast to other shelves this should hold more as the tape is only loaded in shear on the surface it is stuck on i.e. the directions it holds the most.

Installation instructions

To reduce the print time the model is printed in a coarse resolution this leads to quite a rough surface. This is not ideal for fixing the tape to it. Therefore it is recommended to sand down the surface the tape is fixed to. This is especially necessary when installing it in humid areas like a bathroom as the water will slowly creep under the tape and loosen the grip. Also it helps to wipe down all surfaces with isopropyl alcohol before sticking the tape to it.

I found it best to stick the tape first to the model and then press the model upwards against the window and really get some tensile strength into the tape before fixing it to reduce the amount of wobble it needs to deal with.
