A friend asked me to design something that would help in inserting a Scleral lens using a flashlight. I came up with this model. It uses a flashlight obtained through Amazon.com. The link is shown below:
The printed parts were designed specifically for this light source. It's possible that someone could modify the source files to use a different light source.
The lens cup holder was of the type:
The cup given to me for the purpose of designing the lens holder was of the type above, but trimmed down from the original length 1.38" (35mm) to 1.12" (28.5mm).
To hold the flashlight in an upright position I used a pen stand modeled by Mr_Tantrum. This original model can be found at:

I reworked the center portion of this pen stand to hold the flashlight mentioned above. Thanks Mr_Tantrum for your design.
I used the Prusa MK3+, and PrusaSlicer using the following parameters:
Filament: PLA (Other filaments probably work just as well.)
Layer height: 0.3 mm (0.2 mm would also work, but takes longer to print.)
Perimeters: 6
Solid layers, top 6, bottom 4
Infill: 15%, Gyroid
Brim: Outer, 5mm (Lens holder only, as a brim is not needed for base.)
Lens holder printed with top (small end) facing the print bed.
All other parameters were standard for PrusaSlicer.
As a side note, various retail versions of an insertion tool cost around $300. With just a $10. part “small flashlight” you can make your own.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
