Rotating Lego Minifigure Display Using Filament Spools

This Minifigure display uses empty filament spools and Ikea Variera rotating tray.

Print two base plates per filament spool and glue them in place. For a larger display, glue multiple filament spools on top of each other.

For smooth rotation, I have used Ikea Variera “lazy Susan” rotating tray. Print one Variera insert to fix the filament spool to the tray. The insert has a loose fit (about 4 mm allowance - 2 mm all around); scale up, if you want a tighter fit.

Base plate:

• No supports
• No infill
• Print time about 45 minutes

Variera insert

• No supports
• No bottom layers
• 10 % infill
• Print time about 8 hours
