5.25 inch drive bay blank for Virgo tower

Outer wall speed: Slow, if you want a nice smooth finish

Why:

These are replicas of the Virgo ATX tower case 5.25 inch drive bay covers because the ones in my restoration project are more than 15 years old and even after retrobriting, are still severely discoloured, probably due to the fact the previous owner was a heavy smoker.

I modelled in Fusion using an oringal bay cover as the source, measured and recreated almost mm for mm.

I took some liberties including strengthing the rib that is used to secure the retaining clips and increasing the clip length by 1 mm so that they grab the chassis better.

Other than that, they are almost 100% dimensionally accurate and sit perfectly flush in my tower.

I printed mine in a rush so the walls look bit wavy which is 100% my own fault for not slowing down outer walls as they were done at 200mm/s, but I will re-print shortly using 50mm/s outer walls for a better finish.

The supports broke away very easily and left a nice clean base/roof, you may need a crafting knife to clean up the support material between the retaining clips if it doen't come away with the main block.
