This camera temperature control is based on using a W3230 digital thermostat, a 120x120x25 fan, a power supply and depending on the option that suits you best, a switch, a fan speed controller and a PRUSA HEPA filter.
I have designed a heatsink for the fan that allows hot air to be extracted from the top of the camera and thus lowers the temperature of the camera faster. The heatsink also means that when the fan works, the air current does not affect the printing base, something important if we print technical materials.
I have chosen all the components of 12V but another voltage can be used as long as all the components of the circuit are of the same voltage.
Printing parameters:
- It is recommended to print it in PETG or ASA.
- 2 perimeters.
- 15% filling.
- Supports only for the support of the HEPA filter.
The necessary materials are:
- 4 M3 x 35mm screws
- 3 M3 x 6mm screws
- 7 M3 square nuts
- Power supply (I chose a 12V 3A)
- W3230 digital thermostat (In my case 12V)
- Fan 120 x 120 x 25 (In my case 12V)
- 2-pole ON OFF switch (Optional)
- 6-pole ON OFF ON switch (Optional)
- Speed controller for fans (Optional)
- PRUSA HEPA Filter (Optional)
Connections:
Option 1 without switch:
- + of the Power Supply to the +VCC terminal of the thermostat and to the + of the fan.
- - from the power supply to terminal -GND and S1 of the thermostat.
- From terminal S2 of the thermostat to – of the fan.
Option 2 with switch:
- + from the Power Supply to the input of the switch.
- From the output of the switch to the +VCC terminal of the thermostat and to the + of the fan.
- - from the power supply to terminal -GND and S1 of the thermostat.
- From terminal S2 of the thermostat to – of the fan.
Option 3 with 2-position switch (1 for the fan to be controlled by the thermostat and 2 for the fan to always be running) and manually control the fan speed:
- + of the power supply to pin B of the switch.
- - from the power supply to the -GND terminal of the thermostat and to the – GND terminal of the fan speed controller.
- Jumper between pins B1 and B2 of the switch and from pin B1 to the +VCC terminal of the thermostat and to the +VCC terminal of the fan speed controller.
- From pin A1 of the switch to terminal S2 of the thermostat.
- From pin A2 of the switch to terminal S1 of the thermostat and to terminal +OUT of the fan speed controller.
- From pin A of the switch to + of the fan.
- From the – OUT terminal of the fan controller to the – of the fan.
