I took inspiration from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3343965, but I designed the model from scratch.

This functional part can hold up to 9 90mm petri dishes and up to 6 15mL test tubes (see pictures and gif) to help organize the workspace. The design is made in such a way that it uses as little filament as possible (cca. 75g, depending on settings) while still retaining sufficient rigidity, which is why it includes various cutouts. All the overhangs are at a 45° angle, so the model can print without supports. The total height of the model is 153mm, so it fits on a fridge shelf. You can probably scale it on the z-axis according to your needs. I printed 24 of them in PLA and PETG with a 0.6mm nozzle with no problem. You can save even more print time by using an even bigger nozzle, as I don't think one would need a great deal of detail on a functional part such as this.

I printed with the following settings (tweak as needed):

  • Nozzle size: 0.6 mm
  • Layer height: 0.28–0.36 mm
  • Infill: 10–20%
  • Print speed: 60–70 mm/s
  • Materials used: PETG
  • Printer: Ender 3 S1 Pro
