Speaker Stand for Monitor Speakers (here: PreSonus Eris E3.5)

Most speakers are designed to sit flat on the tabletop; sound is not directed towards the ears. This stand helps :-)

Speaker Stand for Monitor Speakers

The Problem: if Monitor Speakers sit flat on a tabletop, the sound is not directed towards the ears.

My Solution: incline the speakers upwards so that they are pointing straight towards the head of the listener.

The speaker stands shown here are designed for my PreSonus Eris E3.5 Multimedia 2-way studio monitors (shout-out to the Grumpy Old Geeks Podcast for this recommendation 😁)

If you use other speakers: my speakers are held at an angle of 20 degrees, the top surface that supports the speakers is 140 mm long. And yes, I went through a few iterations until I found the “right” angle :-)

Printing

Nothing particular here, I used black PLA.

Note that the STL file shows a solid block. To get a visible infill pattern, follow the usual hints:

  1. Set both Bottom solid layers and Top solid layers to 0 so that the infill becomes visible.
  2. Select a suitable Fill density and Fill pattern. I have used around 10% and “Honeycomb”.
  3. Select your preferred layer height. 0.3 mm works fine.
  4. Slice and print :-)

Installation

Using the remainders of the soft rubber pads that came with the speakers, I simply cut some more “pads” and attached these to the speaker stands:
