Description

PDF

I have modified my previous sensor bracket so that it clips to Creality's Rotating filament spool holder.

Printed in black PLA at 0.2mm layer height. Supports required around lip of bearing housing.

You will require:

  • 1 x M8x25mm countersunk bolt - I used a DIN7991 / ISO 10642
  • 1 x M8 Nylock nut DIN 985 / ISO 10511
  • 1 x M8 washer
  • 1 x 608ZZ bearing

Assembly instructions:

  1. Rotate the holder so that is matches the photo
  2. Fit the bearing into the housing
  3. Attach the sensor mount to the housing using the bolt, nut and washer under the nut
  4. Screw the run-out sensor to the mount using the screws that came with the sensor. You may need to tap the holes with a M3 tap
  5. Clip the holder to the spool holder

Update 231112:

I've added a new version that requires only M4 hardware.

You will require:

  • 1 x 604ZZ bearing
  • 1 x M4 hex nut
  • 1 x M4x16 Hex socket button head bolt
  1. Fit the bearing into the filament mount clip.
  2. Remove the bridging material from the M4 hole in the sensor holder.
  3. Fit the M4 nut into the hexagonal recess in the sensor holder.
  4. Insert the M4 bolt from the back of the mounting clip and through the sensor holder.
  5. Screw the run-out sensor onto the sensor holder using the M3 screws that came with the sensor.
  6. Clip the holder to the spool holder.
