PDF

This is a very simple fume extractor for soldering. It uses an 120mm PC fan. The air is filtered by activated carbon filter sheets that are used for kitchen hoods.

New: There's also a funnel now. It replaces the fan grill.

Printing

Required parts:

  • All printed parts
  • 120mm PC fan
  • Activated carbon filter sheet for kitchen hoods
  • 4x Screws M4x50
  • 4x Washers M4
  • 4x Nuts M4

Print all three parts with the grill side on the heatbed. 25% infill. No brims unless your material tends to warp. PLA, PETG or similar filaments.

Cut two 120x120mm pads from the activated carbon sheet, then cut away a bit of the corners. Place the pads in the "inner" part, and close it with the "outer" part. Mount the fan and and funnel part to that sandwich using the four screws.

Instead of the funnel, you can also use a 120mm PC fan grill.
