The Asus PRIME X670-P requires a special mounting bracket to vertically mount a WiFi card. While the manual states "The M.2 Wi-Fi module and vertical M.2 Key E bracket set are purchased separately.", it can (currently) not be purchased.

To mount a Intel AX210 (without an additional PCIe adapter card), a simple bracket was designed. It requires:

  • Intel AX210 (or similar sized card - like the AC 7265 in the pictures)
  • 2x MHF4-to-RP-SMA pigtail
  • 2x M2.5x6 screws (to attach the bracket to the mainboard)
  • 1x M2.5x8 screw (to attach the M.2 card to the bracket)
  • 3x M2.5 nuts

The easiest way to install the card is to perform following steps while the mainboard is not yet installed in a case:

  1. put M2.5x6 screws through the lower mounting holes
  2. attach 2x MHF4-to-RP-SMA pigtail to the sidewall (including nuts)
  3. put M2.5x8 screw through the top hole
  4. put Intel AX210 between top screw and the mounting bracket and fixate it using one M2.5 nut
  5. put bracket with AX210 in the right place on the mainboard and attach M2.5 nuts on the mounting screws
  6. attach pigtails to MHF4 socket
  7. put mainboard in case
  8. attach antennas

There is also a version without (RP-)SMA mounting sidewall - which was not used at the end but might still be useful for some persons.
