Hi,
I was looking for universal name tags for office doors that I can use repeatedly when employees move to another room. All name tags that are sold are very expensive, especially when I needed to label around 30 doors and tags 70 employees in a uniform design.
So I created my own design. It may not be perfect, but it fully meets my needs.
Each plate with name tag has one large area for department name / company logo and several small areas for name tag. There is also set for name tag only with 1 large area you can use for mark Restrooms, Storage room, Copy room, Meeting room,..
I made several sizes that I named:
1+0 -> one large area for logo, no area for name tag
1+3 -> one large area for logo, 3 areas for name tag
2x1+3 -> dual holder for two 1+3 plates
2x1+5 -> dual holder for two 1+5 plates
Why I am using dual holder 2x1+3 instead of 1+6 combination?
Our office room has a right and a left side, each with 3 desks. Thanks to the dual name tag, I know that, for example, Dave Thomas has a desk on the right side, farthest from the door, and Wade Harris has a desk on the left in the middle.
If you need a different combination of name tags, leave me a comment and I can make combinations, for example 0+2 or 1+1, or an extra large (square) area for the company logo
Here you can see plates combinations: at the top two 1+0, on left-down side 1+3 right-down side 2x1+3.
See how to make your own name tag:
More detailed manual is here :-)
2. Use Super glue (cyanoacrylate glue) to fit plate and inserts together. Be careful, the edge inserts are not symmetrical
3. Print paper with name tags. Use thick paper (not standard 80-100g/m2). Ideal should about 250 g/m2
Tag dimensions:
Exact dimensions are very important. You can print 2 columns with labels on one A4
4. Insert tags to the plate
5. Stick the holder on the wall using double-sided tape
6. Insert plates to the holder
If you wanted to use 2x1+5 plate, print both parts of the holder (Holder is bigger than print area so I have divided it into 2 parts). After that just stisk bottom part on the wall using double sided tape. Then align the upper part with the lower part and stick the upper part with double-sided tape too.
I believe that you will enjoy making this model :-)
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
