The handle on my 20ish year old microwave was cracked and falling apart and I couldn't stomach paying $70 OEM. My partner started asking questions about buying a new microwave so I knew I had to jump into action.
I was going to model the handle myself since it's a pretty simple shape but fortunately I found the posting on Thingiverse from npittore with the handle already modeled. I immediately printed it and realized the holes were to big for my model!
So I got to work in Tinkercad and narrowed the holes from about a 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch. My modeling skills are lacking so I just used a couple cylinders to remix this model.
Hole diameter: ~1/8 inch (3.175 mm)
Hole distance: ~6.77 inch (172 mm)
Resolution: 0.2 mm
Infill: 25%
Support: No support, brim, or raft required.
Filament: Hatchbox PLA
Post-processing:
No post-processing required. I did find handy videos online to show me how to remove the cover off of the microwave door to access the two screws holding the handle in place.
I had Testor's modeling cement on hand to repair some cracking to the door cover plastic.
