Making flat but bendable models with a slot pattern

Rigid timber can be made to bend easily when laser cut with a specific pattern. I wanted to try 3D printing with this pattern and I'm pleased to report that it works quite well.

There are three aspects here.

Some models are the results of my experimentation, and you can print them to have a play yourself.

Alternatively, if you want to replicate the pattern in CAD, the images with guidelines and steps should assist.

Finally, the template versions can be imported into your slicer asa modifier to add the bending pattern to existing thin objects.
