This is the beginning of a growing list of different spider vanes for the hadley telescope.  I plan to add many more variants going forward.

Spider vanes hold the secondary mirror in place in the center of the UTA assembly.  The shape, size, and arrangement of the “legs” of spider vanes will alter the appearance of the diffraction pattern that appears around stars in images.  More information about spider vanes can be found here (math ahead, beware) Spider Vane Diffraction

I have designed these to use m4 heat set inserts.  I used 3x 8mm M4 heat sets for the middle of the vane and I used 3x 4mm M4 heat sets for the sides that screw into the UTA.  you can use 4mm heat sets for all of them if you dont have any 8mm.

I recommend using 4-5 perimiters to give the heat sets enough material to grip onto when inserted.  The additional perimiter thickness will also add to the rigidity of the spider vane.

Thin vanes, curved vanes, and circular vanes will be added in the future.
