Sensitive viewers beware, farm house toilet repair pictures are found here.

When your toilet seats starts to crap out on you, don't throw in the towel.

Whip out the printer and give it an upgrade.

If you want to cover the original buffers then select the “reinforcement” files. If you want to replace them completely or just cover your toilet seat in buffers then print the “replacement” files.

Print them in TPU for that very nice and soft “thud.” Or PLA. It's your toilet. But I definitely recommend flexible materials for this one. I went with NinjaFlex TPU, 95A.

Print the press tools in a rigid plastic (e.g. PLA) to help with installation.

Installation:

  1. Clean your toilet seat (you filthy animal).
  2. Place the buffer in the press tool.
  3. Apply liberal amounts of wet room silicone to the underside of the part. “The bigger the glob, the better the job.”
  4. Press the new buffer onto the old one and clamp it down.
  5. Regret that you applied so much silicone since it's being pushed out everywhere around the part. (you might want to wait for the silicone to set a little before removing any eventual excess, that way it won't smear)
  6. Wait for the silicone to set according to the instructions on the container it came in.
  7. Enjoy the “thud” of a once again soft toilet seat buffer.
