Custom made for my Wusthof whetstone (ref 704773), here is my sharpening device !
Inspired by some i found here, i made my own, according to my tastes and needs.
I purchased the stone online on knivesandtools (24€ + shipping) , very happy with it, but wanted to be more precise while sharpening my knives, so ... here it is.
Stone sizing : 150mm x 50mm x 24.5mm
Tube used : 10mm aluminium (pretty close to 3/8 inch)
Bolts used : M5 (and the nuts fits tightly, no need to glue them) and small wood screws for stone holder.
Magnet used : 10mm wide, 2mm thick. (a bit tricky to fit them, but once in place they won't move.)
You'll find two "angle parts", 20 and 25°.
It'll help you calibrate the device for the angle needed.
(Knives are usually sharpened between 17 and 25°, depending on the origin and need of sharpness. The thinner the angle, the sharper it gets, but wear faster)
I uploaded all the STL files, as well as the assembled part : don't print it !
You wouldn't be able to use it ...but could be helpfull to help you figure out how to make it work.
Feel free to ask anything, i'd gladly help !
And ... please, don't forget to wet your stone before using it.
It's a whetstone, it's designed to be used with water. Not dry.
If you ain't sure, have a look online, there is lots and lots of informations on the process !
Cheers !
[UPDATE]
Following request, i added a 35x25mm stone holder !

Notes:
I printed it with variable infill, 20% for the first 2mm, then 8% for the rest, and again 20% for the last 4mm. rnI made this because of the holes in the big part; and s3d didn't manage it well.rnrnPrinted in black PLA, on my i3 mk2s, great result.rnUsed raft, but i don't think it's mandatory.rnEverything can be printed without supports.
