  • You can use stock Prusa firmware
  • I used the 8T version of the extruder motor for the settings below
  • You need to replace the X Axis mount's top M3x30 screw with a longer one to reach through to the nut
  • You will need an M3x6 screw to attach the right side arm to the Mini's heatsink
  • You can use the original brass fitting in the heatsink, but you will have to cut a short (~22.25mm) PTFE from the brass mount up to the extruder gears
  • You will also need to purchase a connector and crimp, or strip and solder the existing extruder motor connector to plug into the Mini+ motherboard
  • My 8T motor came to 905 for the E-Step value (this should be set on the Mini's settings directly)

After some testing, the following GCode should be added at the top of your Start GCode:

M906 E725 ; set stepper current for LDO 8t motor
M603 L50 U50 ; set load and unload length
M203 E50 ; set max feedrate so the motor doesn't try to spin too fast

(M603 & M203 are used here to make the filament change option on the Mini's menu work properly, but these settings will need to be reapplied after every power cycle)

I've also included a little jig to screw into the mount to zip tie the wires to so they aren't just flopping around.
