Replacement for the crumbling 33-year-old plastic cover of an otherwise good belt buckle in my camper van.
My van is a 1990 Ford Econoline, but I think this particular belt buckle was an aftermarket part put in by the van conversion place: Sportsmobile in Elgin Texas.
Gcode: I oriented flat on the print bed to get the textured surface, but if you don't care about surface quality, print vertically instead so you don't need supports. My gcode used organic, on-model supports, so the interior ones required a knife to remove. If you know of a better way to print with the surface plate texture with fewer/better supports, please let me know in the comments.
Model: I'd be happy to share the Fusion 360 model if someone cares to modify/remix for their own needs. In hindsight, a sacrificial bridge may have been a good approach to solve the aforementioned supports problem.
Obligatory Safety Warning: This is NOT a structural part. It only covers the metal parts of the buckle to keep it from loosening during normal use. If the metal components of your belt buckles are faulty, you should replace it immediately. I'm hopeful it goes without saying but DO NOT print structural components of seatbelt restraints!
