Description

PDF

This simple adapter was used to mount the DWR Story planters that come with a wall mount bracket to an aluminum extrusion rail.

Printed in Prusament clear PETG with ~50% infill for strength. The holes are precisely adjusted for a press fit with the available hardware.

Hardware

To assemble, you'll need this hardware:

  • These specific planters with wall mount! Sold here, but may be limited availability in the future.
  • Any 40-series aluminum extrusion. Since mine are wall mounted, I went with 40-4020 extrusion, plus supporting hardware to span the gap. (This is significant overkill for the weight it supports.)
  • One 40-series bolt assembly per planter.
  • Two M4 nuts and machine screws per planter. The screw holes in the metal planter mount are not very wide - so measuring and fitting the head of an M4 screw is key. These worked well, but were a very tight fit.
  • Plants! Shown are a couple of Pothos varieties, and a Monstera that got pretty aggressive.

Customization

The OpenSCAD model is pretty simple, but it's a tight fit for everything. The customization options are there if you need to adjust for your extrusion and relative location on the bar.
