Velcro is something I see used on cameras a lot. Often poorly.
For many people the use of a wide range of accessories is a key part of their media creation experience. While I can design completely custom solutions for my own needs, not everyone can so velcro is an easy way to attach things like power banks, tools and external SSDs. These solutions are often less than neat however, so for this flash contest ive designed a set of parts to neatly add Velcro to your rig, via hotshoe, rails, or any ¼ screw mount on a cage or cheese plate.
Heres all the parts. 3 sizes of velcro plate all using 20mm wide velcro. The cross mount allows the plates to snap to a neat angle to either the hotshoe or rail adaptor.
Using the hotshoe here I mount both an SSD and a lav mic (just pretend theres no cage ;) )
The hotshoe adaptor can be used to attach hotshoe mount items, like the video mic, without adding Velcro to them. I don't mind adding Velcro to things like power banks but would rather keep my camera gear clean.
Here a small plate is mounted on the 15mm rails.
Finally a large plate being mounted to the cage of my main camera.
I use this to mount a power bank for a follow focus, as an example. this way any power bank can be mounted without custom mounts being designed.
A quick Allen key mount I made during the day I spent designing this. Im sure theres more to this idea that could be worked, these are just my initial thoughts.
