This design is a variation on my original Honeycomb Interlocking Water Bottle Rack suggested by @herbert. This version is designed to better accommodate smaller water bottles (standard Nalgene, CamelBak, etc.). All tolerances have been updated to maintain a good fit between the smaller cells.
Other than the smaller size, all features are the same:
This stackable and interlocking bottle rack is perfect for small-medium reusable water bottles, travel mugs, and any other circular object with comparable diameter. The cell has a little more internal space than similar storage systems, and I found this works best for the majority of bottles with 50-75mm diameters. This interlocking rack is overengineered with a focus on creating a rigid and stable structure.
The cell's internal diameter is 85mm, and each cell is 180mm long. The cell is designed to be extremely forgiving to print, with all overhangs at 45° or less, and all bridges shorter than 11mm. This design does not require supports.
All dovetails in the design have a 0.2mm tolerance.* If you're not sure about the accuracy of your printer, try printing test parts “A” and “B” in the “Tolerance Test Pieces” model folder. I recommend printing both test parts at the same time to check the printer's accuracy in both X and Y dimensions.
* I found 0.2mm ideal for creating a tight connection that can still be separated if needed. Please message me if you need a different part tolerance design.
