Dungeness Crab Gauge

Dungeness crab gauge for Washington coast (I have also included gauges for Oregon and California). This gauge has the advantage that it only measures one size, so it is very easy to read. The personalization is done in the slicer, making it easy to change.

The text is 0.6mm tall above the surface of the gauge,

The following instructions are for Bambu/OrcaSlicer. Instructions may vary for other slicers.

How to personalize (using .2mm layer height):

1. Import model into slicer.
2. Use the “Add Text” feature to add personalization to gauge. Have text extend above gauge by 0.6mm (3 layer heights).
3. Slice model.
4. For multicolor, Go to layer 17 (first layer of text) and change layer to a different filament color.
5. Re-slice model.

The model is public and can be found at "Onshape". Go to www.onshape.com and search for “Washington Crab Gauge”. You should be able to copy and change it to be a different size, if desired. I have made the size programable, by changing the #CrabWidth variable in the feature list. Unfortunately, I could not find a way to update the text or create a variable containing text, so it will be necessary to edit the “Text Sketch” feature also and modify the text objects.

All that is left to do is go catch some crab.
