Inspired by commercial products and self-made solutions, I decided to design and print my custom version of a Nespresso capsules dispenser. It wanted it to be nice to look at, functional and simple at the same time. What you see here is what I came up with.
You can easily pull out a capsule one-handed without the whole thing tipping over or moving at all. For refilling capsules, just pull the dispenser out of the socket, flip it vertically by 180° and put it on a new pack of capsules. Not a single capsule will ever land on the floor again!
Capsule Dispenser
I designed 3 different versions of dispensers. In terms of print quality, the one with the "N" in the middle of the tiny honeycomb pattern is the most difficult to print flawlessly (due to my design ofc). I had really good results with the angled honeycomb pattern though and I like this one the most.
Socket
There are 4 different sockets to hold anything in between 1-4 dispensers. A dovetail joint connects the two parts and holds them in place. The tolerance/offset of the joint is 0.08 mm, which seems to be the sweet spot between a snug fit and being able to disassemble the two parts without much effort.
If you decide to just print one dispenser you don't even need a socket. It turned out to be really stable on its own.
