The files are split based on the filament needed.
in the opaque parts you have the iris and two variants of the case:
- a round one
- one that has a mount that uses an m3 screw (you will have to mirror along x or y to get both sides).
The translucent part is the insert that will let the light shine through (I used translucent PETG, without any tint and a red light to get the effect in the pictures).
Prerequisites:
- translucent filament
- opaque filament
- 5mm round LEDs
- M3 screws if you print the variant that has a screw mount
- transparent glue (superglue)
Instructions:
- In prints without supports in the provided orientation, the resolution isn't relevant, the models do not have fine details.
- Print the translucent part at 100% infill, the light will be more consistent.
- The easiest way to assemble is to put a bit of glue on the chamfered edge of the translucent part and insert it into the case. Drop a very small amount of glue (if you use more it will spill out) in the space left for the iris and place the iris on top.
- depending of the tolerances of the LEDs you might need to either enlarge the hole with a drill or glue it in place or (if you are really lucky) the LED will friction fit.
