This stand is designed to not only hold the 1/12th scale model bike, but it also gives you the option to electrify the stand with connection points to the bike. This opens up the option to install LED lights in the bike and have it light up when the model is placed on the stand.
This stand reuses the original screw that mounts the bike to the stand on the retail cardboard box.
To pass power to the bike, I stripped a USB cable back and fed it though the stand. Then, soldered half of a staple to the ends, pulling it back and trimming the ends flush with the post. If you do similar on the bike and fold staples (or solid core wire) over the mating tabs on the bike, it will pass power to it when set on top.
There is an arrow on the bottom to help you align the front of the bike every time when mounting it. Important, if you don't implement any polarity protection in your circuit.
See my other designs for additional parts for this model.
