Guitar Hero - PS3 Les Paul Fret Button - Mechanical Frets

I printed a good amount of frets that I found on Thingiverse and Printables, but none of them seemed to fit as well as I wanted. I decided to take what seemed to fit the best and modified it until it was perfect for my PS3 Les Paul. I'm not sure if these will fit in any other model guitars, but if you print one and find out it does then let me know and I can add it here!

These were modeled to be used with low profile mechanical switches. I used Kailh Low Profile Red switches, but most if not all low profile switches should work as long as they have a similar height.

I printed the black bumpers on each fret out of TPU. They press into the fret and can be found here:

The two attached slicer images are for reference if you want to print clear/translucent frets. Printing them vertically as shown lets the light shine through much better than if they were printed flat. They also feel quite a bit smoother when sliding your fingers over them when printed this way.

If you want translucent frets like what I did I would recommend printing at 100% infill so that you don't see any infill patterns in the fret (unless you want that). I also changed my infill angle so that it was alternating between parallel and perpendicular to the light going through the fret (reference last image), which should help it pass through more easily. I should note that when printing like this the frets are a bit heavier compared to the stock frets (Stock Fret: ~5.1g, 100% Infill PLA Fret: ~7.8g).

If you aren't doing translucent frets then infill can be whatever you want, but around 20% should be sufficient.
