I liked the general design by Franks3dShop on thingiverse and it also happened to nicely match the size of my calipers but I needed one holder for a metal board and one for hot gluing so I remixed the original design for a more universal MultiClip attachment.
For versatility I included 3 MultiClip attachment slots. In reality you will not need more than two at most to create a very stable fixture.
While I edited it I also found it appeared a bit bulky so I made it almost 1 cm thinner (also saves some printing time and material). At last I rounded it a bit in the front to lessen the chance of hitting edges.
In the pictures you can see the holder attached to a metal surface with three magnetic clips and hot glued to the side of a workshop magazine using two glue clips.
If you like the MultiClip idea you might want to have a look at some more MultiClip-enabled designs. You are also very welcome to use the MultiClip Templates for your own objects.
