Description

PDF

Original is for drying desiccant packs by themselves, this one is for loose desiccant (but could be used with packs by adjusting print settings) and works with the center spool support still installed, so you can have a spool on one side and desiccant on the other.

Thanks to the original for providing the F3D file, but I did redraw it from scratch since the base sketch was barely constrained.

Two versions - with and without dividing ribs to add a little strength.

Print instructions

START WITH A CLEAN PRINT BED. If you don't have your first layer dialed, get it so, because this will make you sad if it's not.

Print in PETG or other higher temp filament because trust me PLA will  sag.

Load it up in your favorite slicer and set top and bottom layers to 0. This will make the bottom surface just infill. Adjust your infill as necessary based on the type of desiccant you will be drying. I use a loose dessicant which is small balls of about 2-3mm, so I find 40-50% grid infill works well. For desiccant packets, much lower infill can be used, as in the original.

Walls are 1.0mm thick which will work well on modern PrusaSlicer for 0.4mm and possibly 0.6mm nozzles.  F3D is included if you want to adjust to your optimum wall thickness. (or ask me and I can export a version with a different wall thickness)
