Very simple models to cover cutting tools. Mine roll around in my toolbox and I don't want them banging in to each other and chipping the cutting edges.
Material, layer height, and fill percentage are flexible.
Versions shown are Hatchbox orange ABS at 0.35-mm layer height and 25% fill. The nice part is that if they fit a little tight that can be remedied with the tool itself!
Files for covers included for:
Forstner Drill Bits
Famag ½-in, Freud ¾-in, Freud 1-in, Freud 1 1/8-in, Freud 2-in
Router Bits
Freud ½-in straight-cut , Freud 1/8-in round-over, Freud 5/16-in round-over
Step Drill Bits
Unibit ½-in, Unibit 7/8-in, Milwaukee 4-12-mm
These covers may work with other versions of the same tools, but I know for sure that they work with the tools that I have on hand.
The designs are very simple.
The Forstner bit covers are just thin-walled cylinders with a floor thick enough for a divot for the bit pilot point.
The router bit covers have a space for the bearing retaining screw, or the screw and the bearing.
The step drill bits interface with the top diameter and the bottom diameter. The space in between is a simple cylinder.
