Bearing Caps - Finger Slinger Compatible

For all my fellow finger-slingers out there… Can't decide between a bearing and a cool-looking printed weight...? Why not both??

Modeling:

This is just a quick throw-together so that I can enjoy both one of my favorite franchises as well as my current favorite 3D-printed spinner at the same time!

Simply pop this thing into the center of the bearing and your style points immediately get doubled! Where these style points come from or what they're worth I can't say, but they will be doubled guaranteed!

Of course, they're also easily interchangeable! I'll be adding more and I'm sure there will be more in the remixes, so at any time you can pop one out and replace it with another design or color and continue on! Support the rebels one day and the empire the next! ;)

Printing and Assembly:

I printed at 100% infill and used the plain jane support grid. I think that some models will just have to have supports because of the way the face is designed, however, some models may have faces that are able to be printed supportless by putting the face on the bed. The main issue here is of course overhangs. That being said, the supports only add 5 minutes or so to the print (around 15min to 20min total) so they really are that big of a detriment. If anyone has any good suggestions for how to overcome this to achieve supportless printing ability without just changing the design of the face, please feel free to share as I'm relatively new to FDM printing and very new to modeling!

I've just got the two right now but I will of course be adding more caps in the future, some of which will come as soon as tonight!! This will be something I most likely regularly add to as I create them for things like gifts. Feel free to suggest any you might like to see as well! In the meantime, enjoy!

Changelog:

• 7/30/2023: Shortened the rod by 1mm on the rebel cap so that there is less play. The previous version could be pulled up by about that much before catching, now it is snug. All caps from now on will be this length.
