A compact mounting solution for a dual 5015 fan with clear nozzle view, and use of the original metal BL Touch bracket.
I found the Pudgy fan duct and really liked the look of it but found that it could be improved in some areas. Part of the 5015 mounts interfered with the operation of the extruder release lever and I felt that there were more mounting bosses than necessary. I also reduced the size of the heat set inserts from needing M4s to using M3s instead, although this was just for the weight savings.
The mounting bracket is completely my own. It is a 2-part design with hidden wire routing behind the main carriage plate and a clamp that securely connects the extruder to the bracket. The carriage plate mounts using the existing two mounting holes in the Ender 3 Pro x-carriage.
Because of the positioning of the V2S on the plate, the extruder sits in the same X position as the OEM extruder, and as an added benefit the OEM mounting plate for the BL Touch can still be used, although you will need to print a small spacer (provided).
I have uploaded a step file of the project for remixing.
My BL Touch broke and I replaced it with a BiQu MicroProbe v2, I have designed a bracket for this probe to attache to the existing bottom mounting screw hole. You will need two M2x8 bolts and matching M2 nuts to mount the probe to the bracket with the wire connector facing forward, and a slightly longer M3 bolt to replace the previous bottom mounting bolt.
The bracket holds the probe at the correct distance from the bed and nozzle for the standard H2 V2S so no spacer is needed.
The author remixed this model.
Removed some mounting bosses and reduced the size of fan mount holes for smaller heatset inserts.
