This goniometer allows to accurately measure outside angles and rounded corners (fillets) of objects.

With a regular protractor this is hard to do, especially for rounded corners.

I designed and printed this to measure the angles and the curvature of the rounded corners of the Bosch battery charger for this project. The rails that enclose the charger fit its shape perfectly. Right from the first print! Note that Bosch does not seem to like straight angles, as this specific design has not a single straight angle in it ;-).

Print instructions

I printed it in PLA with 0.15 mm layer height.

Printed without supports (leave space in bottom part for bolt).

Increased number of perimeters to 8 for sufficient strength around bolt and to fill the circular rims completely with perimeters.

Increased the number of bottom layers to 6 to avoid any infill.

Print out the protractor_v1.svg, cut it out, and glue it in the recessed
areas on the 3d printed parts.

Insert an M6 bolt and wingnut to connect both printed parts.
