Having long hair has its challenges, it often does not behave and makes frequent escape bids from hair elastics. I wanted to find an easy hair clip that can control thicker hair without applying any tension which might cause headaches when wearing throughout the day.
My inspiration is heavily drawn from some pictures I found online, special thanks to Kathy @ 3D HAIRDO (http://www.3dhairdo.com/prototyping/) for introducing me to this style of hair clip. I remastered it by guessing at dimensions and it has turned out pretty well.
Supports required (see screenshot for recommended orientation), some sanding is recommended to buff out the support interface to avoid tangling/catching in your hair. PLA has worked well for me so far. For the locking pin you can do some fun patterns by turning off the top/bottom skin to expose the infill pattern too!

Adding additional files to help in model orientation (.stl) and easy set-up for supports (.3mf). For easy to remove supports on the “O” clip, I add a small disk to float the model in the error. I have found this yeilds consistent finish and easy to remove supports. Depending on your material and machine you may need to tune your support parameters.
