I developed this simplistic cube container design with the aim of 3D printing a decorative stack. I'm sharing this design as it serves as a useful foundation for various projects and offers insight into the creation of such objects using Fusion360.
The cube is crafted in a way that ensures visual coherence when stacked, although it doesn't possess specific features for alignment or joining cubes. Consequently, when multiple cubes are glued together, the chamfers provide a unified and balanced appearance.
The file section comprises a PrusaSlicer project named LR2335-R10-L060 Print.3mf
encapsulating all the suggested settings. You can directly use this file, or refer to the following table for specific parameters:
Parameter | Description |
---|---|
Orientation: | Position the cube's bottom on the printer bed. |
Nozzle Size: | 0.4mm, 0.6mm, or 0.8mm. |
Layer Height: | 0.2mm or a size corresponding to your selected nozzle. |
Filament Materials: | PLA, PETG, … |
Perimeters: | 3 perimeters. |
Supports: | No supports required for this print. |
PrusaSlicer Profile: | Choose the "0.2mm Speed" profile. |
The diagram above illustrates and labels the container's dimensions. These dimensions are included in the filename of each model. They can also be found in the accompanying PDF catalogue, along with useful tables to help identify the appropriate model.
LR2325-R<chamfer ratio>-L<side length>.3mf
The chamfer ratio contributes to the box's aesthetic. It's the chamfer's width relative to the side length, represented as a percentage.
For example, 10
signifies 10%. Therefore, a container with a side length of 60mm and a chamfer ratio of 10% will feature a 6mm wide chamfer.
Chamfer widths are always rounded to full millimeters. The PDF catalogue includes the exact chamfer width values for each model.
This refers to the cube's side length, measured in millimeters.

This is a very basic design, yet I hope you have some use for it.
Happy printing!
