I have recently bought "The Chameleon" from Big Potato Games and the box it came in was unecessarily large. At least half of the space of the box was taken up by a plastic insert. So I wanted to make a better box for it that allows for everything to fit inside the box while also holding a small note block for scorekeeping, since thats not in the normal game for some reason.
However I really liked the design of the original box with the checkerboard pattern and wanted to integrate that into the design somewhere. I knew of people creating custom first layer patterns with slicer plugins or python scripts but I wanted to see what patterns I could create solely with modelling and slicer functions. The pattern on the lid is the result of that effort and I am really happy with it. Its keeping the essence of the original box while also integrating something fresh.
If you want the exact same pattern the box has, it uses dual color filament, the box is oriented 45 degrees to the filament direction and the first layer is set to “concentric”, the second layer to “lines”. Designed for a 0.2mm layer height
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
