End cap for 35mm cassette

To reuse a 135 cassette, loosen the end cap at the short end of the film spool (carefully expanding the folded over metal with a knife tip) and take the end cap off without damaging the main body of the cassette. The spool may then be withdrawn and the end of a new film attached to it. Replace the spool and snap the nylon end cap onto the main body. The cassette can then be reloaded as usual via a bulk loading machine.

Take care to reload with the same speed film that the cassette originally contained if you are going to use the cassette in a DX camera, or else cover the codes with tape.

I have only printed this end cap in nylon. The flexibility of that material makes for a good functional part.
