Overview

This was inspired by the fascination of doing quick reloads of paper towels and toilet paper holders. I wanted to give it my own spin for my own bathroom and kitchen. The kitchen having a more unique location for my paper towel where I have to use the L corner of a wall to mount the holder.

Update DateDescription
7/18/2023Added experimental WallHolder Honeycomb! - This experimental wall holder allows putting the towel holder on the popular Honeycomb storage wall!

Print Information

General

  • No Supports Required.
  • Brim not needed but add as necessary.
  • Mirror the object (Right Click → Mirror → Along X-Axis) where mentioned.
  • Print the LockBolt-Standard and the ToleranceTest-WallHolder if you want to make sure your tolerances work well.

For mounting paper towel against a wall:

  • 1x - Paper Towel Parts/WallHolder-PaperTowel
  • 1x - Paper Towel Parts/WallHolder-PaperTowel (mirrored along X-Axis)
  • 2x - Common/LockBolt-Standard
  • 1x -  Common/Arm-Standard
  • 1x -  Common/Arm-Standard (mirrored along X-Axis)

For mounting toilet paper against a wall, print:

  • 1x - Toilet Paper Parts/WallHolder-TP
  • 1x - Toilet Paper Parts/WallHolder-TP (mirrored along X-Axis)
  • 2x - Common/LockBolt-Standard
  • 1x - Common/Arm-Standard
  • 1x - Common/Arm-Standard (mirrored along X-Axis)

Screw against wall as necessary. Feel free to substitute WallHolder-TP for WallHolder-TP-NoScrew if you plan on using adhesives to hold it in place.

For mounting  against a corner (L shape) of a wall:

Printing this set is good when you have a corner and don't have adequate space to mount against one single wall. This allows you to print the regular paper towel wall holder on one side and the smaller corner wall holder against the perpendicular wall. Note: When printing make sure you mirror the pieces as necessary.

  • 1x - Paper Towel Parts/WallHolder-PaperTowel (mirror as necessary)
  • 1x - Paper Towel Parts/WallHolder-Corner (mirror as necessary)
  • 2x -  Common/LockBolt-Standard
  • 1x -  Common/Arm-Standard
  • 1x -  Common/Arm-Standard (mirrored along X-Axis)

Experimental Arm Pieces

While quick reloading and easily rolling the paper is great, sometimes I need a little grip so I don't accidentally grab 15 sheets in one roll. In comes these experimental pieces. While they're not perfect, they definitely do add some friction to grabbing the sheets.

Experimental Arms/Arm-PressFriciton
PROCON
When pulling a sheet downward, this adds friction to the sides of the paper roll preventing from pulling too many sheets. It ends up shredding the sides of the paper roll slightly creating paper dust as you keep using the roll.

Experimental Arms/Arm-InnerFriction
PROCON
This changes the arm from a single piece to a two piece with the two arms pushing against the inner walls of the paper rollGreatly diminishes the quickness one can disarm/rearm the roll
The arms eventually start taking shape and friction becomes less and less as time goes by
Experimental Arms/Arm-ExtraArmFriction
PROCON
This takes the Arm-InnerFriction design and adds a third arm into the mix which supplies more support and slightly more frictionGreatly diminishes the quickness one can disarm/rearm the roll
Lasts slighty longer than the two arm design

More challenging to change roll

Mounting Information

  • The key is to make the WallHolder distance from the other far enough so your paper roll won't slide out if you push it all the way to one side
  • Use a strong adhesive  (e.g. 3M Scotch 5252 VHD Tape) especially if you're aggressive at rolling your roll 😅
