This is a remixed version of kitlaan's “Missile Light Switch Cover”. I wanted a version that was slightly harder to flip open, so I added some additional nubs to make the switch lightly “lock” into place when closed. It gives a satisfying click when opening and closing too!
I have only tested the snapping version of the “always on” switch cover so far, but I see no reason the always off one should have any issues. I got tired of people turning off switches for my smart lights instead of asking the home assistant to do it, so I wanted to add just a tiny bit of resistance to anyone trying to casually flip the cover up. It also works from keeping the cats from playing with the covers!
As with the original models there is a version that will automatically turn off the switch when it's closed, or a version that can have the switch in the on or off position when closed. It is an extremely nice design by kitlaan!
I printed at .15mm layer height. The brackets in the photo are PETG and the covers are ASA, but I've also printed them in all PETG and all PLA and they worked just fine! I would recommend PETG for the brackets just due to the brittleness of PLA when screwing in, but as long as you're careful really anything should work great.
