Remix of (almost) fully printed GoPro steady cam

Although it IS possible to print the GoPro mount which HamOp included in the original, it requires support which I wanted to avoid. Instead of this piece, I made an alternative which takes a GoPro tripod mount. (I bought one of these on EBay for 2GBP so 'yes' more non-printed parts :-) ).

Other changes from HamOp's very good design ...

Amended the gimbal so that it needs two 20mm (outer) and two 16mm (inner) button head screws - no need to trim anything.

Used a quantity of marine grade (thick) M12 washers for the weight which required a reworked weight tube to keep them in line.

Instructions

I printed these parts using a 0.2mm layer height and 25% infill.

The piece which attaches a GoPro tripod mount to the 8mm screwed rod takes two nuts. At the top is a gap for a 1/4" BSW nut into which I screwed a 1/2" BSW cap head screw using an allen key which was inserted through the 8mm hole at the bottom.

Once the BSW screw is in place, an M8 nut is pushed into the lower of the two slots so that the M8 rod can be screwed in according to HamOp's instructions. Please note that the TRIPODMT.STL file has two single layer support diaphragms which need to be drilled out after printing. These are needed so that the suspended holes can be formed without the need for any support material.
