Summary
I have a Celestron Evolution mount for my 8" SCT and the original rubber tipped feet were getting damaged after a few uses. I wanted to replace the feet with something a bit more robust. Using heavy duty tripod feet was an obvious choice and these adapters should work well with any tripod foot with a standard 3/8-16 screw post.
Should fit any telescope tripod with hollow 1" diameter metal legs.

Additional Parts
- 3x Tripod feet tips with standard 3/8" threaded post. I used Leofoto Universal 45mm feet, but pretty much any tripod tip with a 3/8-16 post will do.
- 3x washers. You may need to use 5/16" washers which should just fit over the post in order to fit inside and have a small gap to allow the tripod leg tubes to fully insert.
- 3x nuts for the threaded posts
Assembly
- Insert threaded stud of the tip into the hole and place the washer inside of the adapter.
- Screw the nut onto the post without over tightening as that may damage the adpater. I recommend just using your hand without a wrench using a socket. If you're afraid of it coming loose, some blue Loctite on the threads will work.
- Make sure the sides of the nut and not the corners are facing the two holes in the side of the adapter. Rotate the post accordingly. Important: failure to properly align the nut to the holes may damage the adapter!
- Insert the adapter onto the end of the tripod leg and line up the holes of the adapter with the holes in the leg.
- Carefully use the original Celestron screws and screw in one of the screws about 70% of the way in.
- Ensure other hole is still aligned properly. If not, adjust as necessary.
- Screw in the 2nd screw fully. Be careful to not over tighten as that will damage the adapter.
- Finish screwing in the 1st screw.
