Jurassic Park Barbasol Cryotube Can Remix

So I did a thing!!!

I have had Cadcat’s Barbasol Jurassic Park Cryco Can model for some time but never printed it because it’s, shall we say, not very screen accurate. I found on Amazon an actual Barbasol Stash box can and thought it’s about time to print this!!!

So first of all the cryotube holders needed redesign. Looks like it was done in Tinkercad because the cylinder shapes only had 128 sides, at low resolution! The holes were too small and too close, the disk too small, missing the small holes between the tubes, the center tube shaft too thick on the bottom and center disk, it was missing the red silicon o-ring slot, and the entire model was too narrow and rattled around inside the can easily.

Off to the CAD world I went! I could have probably designed my own quicker but decided I could just tweak a few things in his model! First I remeshed every piece and smoothed out the walls. I scaled up all the pieces to 57.75mm to give additional room on the disks. I Boolean subtracted ten 11mm rods for the cryotubes and then ten 3mm rods for secondary holes. I Boolean subtracted a 3mm torus for the silicon o-ring from the top of the threads. I cut off the bottom base for the can since I am glueing my model to the stash can bottom. Finally I subtract a 25mm hollow cylinder from the base and the top disk to bring the center shaft to similar thickness. Printed about 12 times different parts until everything fit perfectly!

Using 1.5ml PCR Cryotubes(see link below) from Amazon and a 53mm x 3mm red silicon o-ring which I forgot to install, also from Amazon!

.12 layer or below for best finish

15% Adaptive Cubic Infill is great
