So, having bought myself a heated filament clamp for “welding” filament scrap together, or joining short rolls, I found a problem immediately.
The instructions seem to assume the existence of a third hand, or second person to be able to hold in the required number of places while still operating the clamp itself. So I fixed it.
Some parts are remixed from the ultimate filament spool clip, because I needed something to hold the filament securely, but not too tightly. Ultimate Filament Clip Clamp by jajaum3d - Thingiverse
I suppose it would be better to say that I attached two of those clips to my design inverted and fixed in place.

Support required:
- for the “clip”, use normal support otherwise the clip portion sags.
- for the “base” use tree support or the upper supports do not print correctly.
- the pins and bolts are print in place.
