I designed this dock to allow easy charging of my DJI Mini 3 controller. This is currently a work-in-progress and may be updated in the near future.

For charging, I am using a magnetic USB-C cable soldered to a small USB-C breakout board. This gives you a USB-C port on the back. There are links below to each.

To prepare the USB-C cable, I stripped away most of the rubber strain relief and then slid the braided nylon jacket off the cable. This makes the cable fit in the pocket much easier. The end of the cable slides into the part labeled “Magnetic USB Holder”, which screws into the body of the dock. Just plug in the magnetic adapter into the controller, then drop your controller in the dock and then screw the USB holder with the cable inserted into it until it makes contact with the magnetic adapter. The holder has a hole in it to use for a grub screw to secure the cable in the holder.

For the breakout board, just solder the 5v and ground wires (red and black) to the breakout board (labeled VBUS and GND on the breakout board) and secure it to the dock with 2x M3 screws. I designed the hole size for tapping.

The bottom cover is a little loose, I will probably redesign it. You can play with scaling to tighten up the fit.

Please note: the picture taken of the bottom showing the breakout board was during testing and I hadn't yet soldered the wires, so it looks bad. Please forgive. :)
