This connector back shell fits around the guts from from a DB-9 female solder cup to create an Atari style joystick plug.
The fit up is pretty fiddly, will need to scale or adjust sizes to match.
Crimp style DB-9 connectors I tested were bigger making trim ring wall even thinner.
Print back shell cord side up with large brim.
Print trim ring with supports.
Slice with walls thick enough that there is no room for infill.
Remove metal flange from DB-9 connector. Use side cutters to trim excess plastic from around the DB-9 insert.
Remove any supports and test fit parts. Should be a pretty tight fit.
Pull cord through back shell and fit alignment ring inside the back shell opening.
Remove the DB-9 from trim ring before soldering wires to DB-9.
Use some hot glue on wires for strain relief. Keep hot glue away from printed parts to avoid deformation.
Put trim ring around DB-9 connector, use super glue if desired.
Fit back shell and alignment ring together, use super glue to secure
