As I had some problems with removing (and inserting without a hammer) different types of inserts, I made my own version.
This version has to be inserted in the correct way as it has a top (the thick side, see arrows on the back of the hex) and a bottom (the separate snap/spring).
Insert the upper end first and then press the spring (carefully!) into the centre (a screwdriver will help - but is not really necessary, see photo series or video sequence) and snap it in.
To remove, just use a "hook for empty" or any other hexagonal thing that fits into the "empty" and push it up so that the underside comes out first.
The plug should stay alone, if one is close to the next comb above or below, its a problem to easily insert. But as this is the normal way to use it, it will fit in most cases.
The construction can take forces downwards, but not upwards. As long as gravity does not change its direction, it is ok :-)
I also added a "useless" version called -closed-. You can use it for your own designs, just to add hocks and things directly to this base plane if you like and the "empty" doesnt fit your needs.
I used 4 wall lines - to prevent infills in the spring base, more is possible, but this only affects the visible first layer.
Update 20230713: I modified the piece a bit, now it can be plugged in without screwdriver and can still carry a lot of weight. Try that first. I just do not want do delete the previous one, if someone like to have more tight fit, but if you like to be more flexible and move your tools more often till it is managed as you like - use V4 (video is made with V4).
I have added a short video so you can see that it is possible for a right handed person using their left hand (because of the camera position) to use the plug. The weight you see is a massive steel plate with 1400g at 5-6cm distance from HSW (lever law).
Update 20230718: Version for M4 added
Update 20230722: Version with countersunk for wall mount added (user request) - bit support needed for better results of the screwplane - but not mandatory.
Changed titlephoto to a better print with PLA+ (red ones are PETG) - looks better :-)
Update 20230826: Version with surface (user request)
The author remixed this model.
Make it easier to remove the insert if you want to reassamble your HSW
