This was originally created to add the 80mm fan/filter assembly from 3DUpfitters (no affiliation) to the Original Prusa Enclosure, but it should also work for any 80mm fan.  The adapter has three arms that attach to the metal enclosure frame, and is very sturdy.  The model was designed for printing in either PETG or PLA at 0.2mm layer height with no supports.  Thermal press-fit threaded inserts are used rather than nuts.

2025-01-05 Update: Per request, added a STEP file for the model.

Required Parts:

7x  M3x4mm (5mm OD) threaded inserts

7x  M3x6mm screws

Miscellaneous Notes/Comments:

  • The fan/filter assembly from 3DUPFitters uses a very quiet, low volume fan, but it moves enough air to keep the enclosure cool (~28C) during long PLA prints, or to cool the chamber down more quickly after a print is finished (without opening the doors).  The main reason I chose it is because it uses the same replacement carbon filters as on my other enclosures.
  • Please don’t use the .gcode file that has been provided (always slice your own files for your specific printer, filament, environment, etc.).  The file was included to provide a reference for approximate print time.
  • The adapter in the photos was printed using PolyMax PLA (because that is what I had loaded in the printer at the time).
